SOLAR CONTROL LOW-E GLASS

It offers both solar control and thermal insulation with a single coating. Thanks to its controlled light transmittance and effective solar control, it helps reduce cooling and heating loads in buildings. Its temperable feature provides solutions suitable for safety and security requirements. Production is carried out on a project basis.

APPLICATIONS

Ideal solutions for projects in hot climate regions and for skylights.

MANUFACTURING METHOD
Temperable Solar Low-E Glass is an off-line coated glass produced by applying a thin metal/metal oxide layer on flat glass using electron beam evaporation in a vacuum environment.

DIMENSIONAL TOLERANCES
A ±5 mm tolerance is available for all nominal sizes. For different size and thickness requests, please contact us.

QUALITY
The Temperable Solar Low-E Glass, which provides heat and solar control, is produced in accordance with the “TS EN 1096 Glass – Coated Glass Used in Buildings” standard.

SOLAR CONTROL

Often specified for windows, roofs and glazed facades, solar control glass help optimize light transmission, solar control and thermal performance. The glass lets sunlight pass through while reflecting a large proportion of the sun’s heat.

Solar control low-E glass is ideal for maximizing natural daylight and reflecting the most solar heat back to its source. The indoor space remains bright and cooler compared to uncoated glass. Energy efficiency can also be improved as solar control glass helps reduce air conditioning loads during warmer months.

THERMAL INSULATION

In terms of thermal insulation performance, low-emissivity (low-E) glass offers the following advantages:

• It allows sunlight to pass through the glass when desired.

• It helps reflect interior heat back into the room.
• It creates a barrier against the cold air outside.
• It is commonly used in double or triple glazing systems.
• It can help reduce energy costs associated with indoor heating systems.

UV PROTECTION WITH LOW-E GLASS

Low-E glass is effective in reducing harmful UV rays and glare.
Depending on the building's location and orientation, low-emissivity glass can help reduce solar glare and improve visual comfort for occupants—especially when a glazed façade is exposed to direct sunlight and the window-to-wall ratio is high.
Ultraviolet (UV) light can cause up to 50% of fading in interior furnishings and finishes. The use of laminated glass can block up to 99% of UV light.

APPLICATION AREAS OF SOLAR CONTROL LOW-E GLASS

Commercial Buildings

Used in office buildings, shopping malls, hotels, and hospitals. Ideal for large glazed façades to maximize daylight while reducing cooling costs.

Residential Buildings

Applied in houses, villas, and apartment buildings—especially on sun-exposed façades, balconies, large windows, and sliding doors.

Façade Systems

Widely used in curtain wall systems and aluminum composite cladding systems (ACP + glass combinations).

Retail Stores & Shopfronts

Protects products from UV rays while allowing clear visibility and reducing solar heat gain inside the store.

Doors & Windows

Integrated into aluminum, PVC, and wooden joinery systems where thermal insulation is essential.

🌿 Green Building Projects

Contributes to energy efficiency goals and helps meet certification standards like LEED and BREEAM.

COLOR OPTIONS

Solar Control Low-E glasses have special coatings that reduce solar heat and UV rays while optimizing natural light transmission into indoor spaces. The color options generally vary depending on the intended use, aesthetic preferences, and performance characteristics of the glass.

Common colors of Solar Control Low-E glass include:

  1. Gray

    • Provides a modern and neutral appearance.

    • Effective in reducing solar heat and glare.

  2. Green

    • Comes in light greenish tones.

    • Offers a natural and environmentally friendly look.

  3. Bronze / Brown

    • Provides warm tones with a classic and elegant appearance.

    • Reduces the impact of sunlight while adding an aesthetic layer.

  4. Blue

    • Gives a cooler and more modern look.

    • Often preferred for buildings with sea or sky views.

  5. Clear / Light Tints

    • Low-E coatings that minimally alter the external appearance while delivering performance.

    • Suitable for those who want maximum natural light transmission.
