STRUCTURAL GLAZING

STRUCTURAL GLAZING

Structural Silicone Facade Systems are modern facade cladding solutions that emphasize the simplicity and aesthetics of glass. In this system, glass panels are fixed to the load-bearing aluminum structure with high-strength structural silicone, and when viewed from the outside, a seamless glass surface appearance is achieved.

In the Structural Glazing system, the load-bearing connection between the glass and aluminum is provided by structural silicone, while EPDM gaskets are used as auxiliary elements for air and water tightness. In this way, the system offers both high strength and superior insulation performance.

We provide professional solutions in the design, production, and installation processes of curtain wall systems in accordance with international standards.

Structural silicone curtain wall systems protect buildings from external air flow and water leaks with infrastructure channels. Depending on the weather conditions, it has silicone and filters that prevent the hot and cold air inside the building from leaking out. It protects the interior of the building from sunlight thanks to its heat-resistant glass with U (W/m2K) values. Thanks to its highly insulated structure, the silicone facade system provides fuel savings to buildings by balancing the room temperature by eliminating heat loss.

STRUCTURAL GLAZING TECHNICAL Q&A

What is Structural Glazing? It is a façade system where glass panels are fixed to aluminum or steel supporting profiles with high-strength silicone, providing a seamless and engineering-controlled façade.
How does the installation process proceed? Substructure installation, temporary placement of glass panels, application of structural silicone, and sealing with performance testing are performed.
As a façade company, what solutions do we provide? We manufacture, supply, and perform on-site installation of Structural Glazing façades, including silicone application, thermal break profiles, and façade performance verification.
What advantages does Structural Glazing offer? Seamless glass appearance, natural light optimization, wind and load resistance; thermal break profiles provide energy efficiency.
Does the system contribute to energy efficiency? Yes, heat loss is reduced with low-e glass and insulated profiles, increasing façade energy performance.
Is it compatible with other curtain wall types? Yes, it can be integrated with unitized or stick curtain wall solutions, ensuring façade integrity and ease of installation.
Is customized design possible? Glass type, silicone color, profile section, and panel dimensions can be applied according to project-specific engineering criteria.
In which types of buildings is this system preferred? It is used in offices, shopping centers, hotels, and high-rise corporate buildings with a focus on aesthetics and performance.
Can metal façades or ceramic cladding be used with Structural Glazing? Yes, different materials can be integrated with Structural Glazing panels, providing design flexibility.
Is the system compatible with sun breakers and glass support systems? Yes, sun breakers, spider glass, or other glazing elements are integrated according to engineering calculations for load transfer and joint alignment.
Which standards are applied in production and installation? Production: EN 12150, EN 1279, EN 13830, ASTM C1184; Installation: EN 1991 and ASTM E1300 standards are followed.
What are the Pa values? Pa values and wind loads vary according to the project and are determined through engineering calculations.
Depending on the size and detail of the project, the production time varies.
