POINT FIXED GLASS (SPIDER GLASS)

POINT FIXED GLASS (SPIDER GLASS)

The Point Fixed Glass (Spider-Glazed) system is a curtain wall system that provides architectural design and an aesthetic appearance. The most important feature of this system is the maximum viewing area it provides by using transparent glass panels on the façade surface (different glass properties can be used optionally).

It can be implemented with various structural solutions depending on architectural requirements. While stainless steel structural tube systems are the most common choice, tension rod, steel truss, or hybrid solutions with glass supports can also be used. This versatility allows for solutions optimized for various static loads, spans, and wind loads, providing structural solutions that meet engineering requirements for projects of any scale.

STEEL TENSION ROD SPIDER GLAZING

Tension rod solutions are used to reduce the use of structural materials and for semi-transparent designs requiring long spans. These systems are preferred for vertical, horizontal, ceiling, vault, and dome applications.

The systems operate through load-bearing structures formed by tension rods and/or cable elements. Stability is ensured by the prestressing forces applied to the tension members. Prestressing values are determined based on static calculations, depending on the span, wind load, and deflection criteria.

Stainless steel is generally preferred for all load-bearing elements.

CABLE POINT SUPPORTED SPIDER GLAZING

Cable net supporting solutions represent the ultimate elegant minimalistic structural glazing providing optimum façade transparency. Cable supported facades, often called cable nets, are used where large expanses of glass are required to enclose huge spaces, with limited intrusion from supporting structure. This structural system supports glass by pre-stressed cables in a net geometry, providing a very flat design.

The horizontal cables are tensioned against the adjacent building structures and the vertical ones between the roof structure and the ground. Cables are locked together with stainless steel clamps, which also hold the glass panes.

SPIDER GLASS WITH STEEL CARRIERS

Steel tubes behind glass provide a modern look with matt, glossy, or painted surfaces.

Main carriers are made from normal or stainless steel. Support beams range from simple to complex tubular columns, trusses, or intricate substructures. Suitable for vertical facades and ceiling glazing.

Often combined with tension bars or cables to reduce steel and increase transparency. Snow loads, wind pressures, and slopes are key considerations. Rods or cables can match glass panel size, with lateral tensioning stabilizing the façade.

STRUCTURAL GLASS FINS

Glass curtain walls represent the earliest form of structural glass facades, used when maximum transparency is desired. They are virtually invisible, frameless facades that contain no steel or concrete elements and provide complete airtightness and waterproofing. Glass curtain walls use panels mounted perpendicular to each vertical line of the glass grid.

The glass panels are secured using stainless steel fasteners such as hinges, spider fittings, panel connectors, and clamps.

SPIDER FIXED GLAZING TYPES

Steel Structure:
Circular tube, bar, or fish-belly hinges. Spider claws fix glass panels at four corners; fasteners pass through glass holes. Flexible and easy to install.

PRODUCTION AND QUALITY CONTROL

It has the capacity to produce with high precision with advanced technology in its production facility. Quality standards are applied in all production processes.

After the completion of the production processes, the products are checked with quality control procedures to ensure that they comply with the standards. And as the last stage, the packaging process is realized to be sent to our customers.
