SPIDER GLASS CURTAIN WALL

Point Fixed Glass is a curtain wall system that gives the building an architectural design and aesthetic appearance. The most important feature of this system is the maximum visibility between the interior and exterior environment due to the use of only transparent glass as the facade cladding material. 

Stainless or steel carrier pipes (profiles) are used in accordance with the intended use of the building and in line with the demands. Tempered or laminated glass is preferred in Spider glazing curtain wall, but tempered glass with a high level of safety, especially specially manufactured, is most preferred.

Sun Breaker systems are assembled from steel and aluminium in order to control daylight in spaces and to save energy. It has a wide range of products in different shapes and sizes.  Thanks to the possibility of special production, it provides different alternatives to designers. Sun shading systems that can be used horizontally or vertically can be applied as fixed or mobile, and in mobile options, it provides optimum shading by manual or motorised control. All Ral Coded Colour Options, Anodized, and Natural Wood coating method are applied.

POINT FIXED GLASS (SPIDER GLASS)

Point Fixed Glass is a curtain wall system providing architectural design and aesthetic appearance. Its key feature is maximum visibility, using only transparent glass as cladding.

Stainless or steel carrier pipes are used per building requirements. Tempered or laminated glass is preferred, with specially manufactured high-safety tempered glass most common.

Glass thickness is calculated based on area dimensions and static values. For water tightness, UV-resistant silicone seals horizontal and vertical joints. Main carriers are made from steel or stainless steel according to architectural needs.

SPIDER GLASS WITH STEEL CARRIERS

Steel tubes behind glass provide a modern look with matt, glossy, or painted surfaces.

Main carriers are made from normal or stainless steel. Support beams range from simple to complex tubular columns, trusses, or intricate substructures. Suitable for vertical facades and ceiling glazing.

Often combined with tension bars or cables to reduce steel and increase transparency. Snow loads, wind pressures, and slopes are key considerations. Rods or cables can match glass panel size, with lateral tensioning stabilizing the façade.

STEEL TENSION ROD SPIDER GLAZING

Tension rod solutions are used for semi-transparent designs requiring structural dematerialization and long spans. These systems allow vertical, overhead, vaulted, and dome applications.

Bow string or suspended cable trusses use prestress in tensile elements for stability. All materials are high-quality stainless steel. Glass is tempered or tempered laminated, often heat-soak tested. Prestress forces depend on span and load and must be supported by adjacent structures.

CABLE POINT SUPPORTED SPIDER GLAZING

Cable net supporting solutions represent the ultimate elegant minimalistic structural glazing providing optimum façade transparency. Cable supported facades, often called cable nets, are used where large expanses of glass are required to enclose huge spaces, with limited intrusion from supporting structure. This structural system supports glass by pre-stressed cables in a net geometry, providing a very flat design.

The horizontal cables are tensioned against the adjacent building structures and the vertical ones between the roof structure and the ground. Cables are locked together with stainless steel clamps, which also hold the glass panes. 

STRUCTURAL GLASS FINS

Glass fins represent the earliest form of structural glass façade, used when maximum transparency is desired. The result is a frameless, almost invisible façade with no steel or concrete elements, ensuring complete air tightness and waterproofing. Glass-fin walls use fins set perpendicular to each vertical line of the glass grid.

Glass panes (single or double glazing) are attached with stainless steel fittings like rotules, spiders, fin splices, and clamps. The façade is suspended from concrete or steel beams via pin joints and fixed to the floor with stainless steel sill channels.

SPIDER FIXED GLAZING TYPES

✓ Steel Structure:
Circular tube, bar, or fish-belly hinges. Spider claws fix glass panels at four corners; fasteners pass through glass holes. Flexible and easy to install.
